During the January 2014 NRM caucus meeting in Kyankwanzi district, Members of Parliament endorsed President Museveni for the Presidency for 2016. Campaigns have been going at district levels to campaign for President Museveni.

Minister for Presidency, Frank Tumwebaze was in Kamwenge district meeting the district leaders. Leaders of Kibale county Kamwenge district thanked the Members of Parliament for the resolution. They also thanked President Museveni for the tarmac road from Ibanda to Kamwenge.

Also, Frank thanked the leaders for their support to the NRM party. Rumor has been going on that Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi is eyeing for the Presidency in 2016. This attracted a lot of tension in the NRM party. Members of Parliament collected around 195 signatures endorsing President Museveni for the Presidency in 2016.

Members of Parliament are carrying mass sensation at district levels in search for votes for President Museveni in 2016. The Members of Parliament are being challenged to explain the achievements of the NRM party to justify continuity of the government in power.

The President has a lot of support in the West. The standing of his Prime Minister would split the votes and threaten the ability of NRM to keep the presidency. As opposition come to seek for a unified single candidate, 2016 portends to be tough.
