Nine cases of #covid19 are so far been reported in Uganda, what next?

  1. Conduct the country #covid19 risk assessment
  2. Take drastic actions to minimize the spread
  3. Establish communication protocols for the official source of data
  4. Implement emergency relief for the vulnerable
  5. Activate economy stabilization fund

How?

Conduct the country #covid19 risk assessment

From one case to nine, the #covid19 threat is becoming dire. In Uganda, our culture and lifestyle are like that of Italy – where community living, friendship and sharing is a way of life. At one factory in Kampala, with over 1,200 workers of which 800 are casual, you will find them together in one room at lunchtime serving lunch!

In some homes, people live together. You have a whole family of 10 people living in one home. In the slums, communities live together.

When one affected person goes into the population, the risk of spreading the virus is very high.

To this end, social distancing, and personal hygiene are key. Most importantly, people should stay at home. With 9 cases now, the government should heighten the lockdown. And be vicious in the enforcement.

The country risk profile has increased significantly. You must stay at home! Stay safe.
